This is Mina Mileva and Vessela Kazakova’s second fiction feature after well-travelled UK-set festival hit Cat In The Wall and a trio of hard-hitting documentaries looking at social and political developments in Bulgaria, which have led to them being dubbed the “demonic duo” by one senior politician at home.

It charts his meteoric rise from CEO of Renault and Nissan  to his sudden and mysterious disappearance, leading him to become an international fugitive in his native country of Lebanon.

Filmed over 5 years, Dying to Divorce takes viewers into the heart of Turkey's gender-based violence crisis and the recent political events that have eroded democratic freedoms. Through intimately shot stories, the film gives a unique perspective on the struggle to be an independent woman in modern Turkey. 

Directed by Chloe Fairweather the film received Amnesty International Award in Thessaloniki Documentary Festival and Special Jury Prize at Monte Carlo TV Festival.
